Your Team 2015

2015 sees the Desert Edge Race Team enter its seventh year of official support from Honda Australia.

DERT’s efforts this season will include high profile local races such as the Deep Well Australia Day MX and the Sporties 12 hour, we will be heading to Victoria for the annual Hattah desert race, WA for some of their Desert Tri-series events and of course the big one for 2015, the 40th anniversary Finke Desert Race….
DERT had a very respectable showing in the 2014 Finke, in fact all our 4 team rider’s placed in the top ten, David Walsh 2nd, Daymon Stokie 5th, Michael Walsh 8th and Caleb Auricht 10th, well done boys! However that 1st place eluded us and we are very intent on another crack at the top spot this year!

Welcome to team DERT Honda Australia for 2015;

  • David Walsh (NT) 2nd Outright in both 2012 and 2014 Finke, David has closed the gap on the top position and will give his all for that spot in 2015. A genuine Finke specialist and with the improvements to the 2015 CRF450R it will make for an exciting 40th anniversary year.
  • Daymon Stokie (NT) Very impressive 5th place finish in 2014 with a flat tyre slowed his progress, Daymon was also running top 10 at Hattah before a minor mechanical put a stop to his race, Daymon finished 4th Outright in his first crack at WA tri-series event the Indee 500. Fast in all forms of racing Daymon striving for the best and looks good for 2015
  • Caleb Auricht (NT) 10th in 2014 Finke and 11th at Hattah. Caleb’s enthusiasm and commitment to racing are 2nd to none he is a true champion and he will be hungrier than ever for a podium in 2015
  • TBA (Vic or USA) currently negotiating for an interstate or international rider to join our effort in select events… Stay tuned for an announcement soon!

Honda’s involvement in our team is exceptional and we certainly appreciate their support, National Service Manager Pip Harrison plays an active role in the development of our bikes and riders! We certainly appreciate the input from Honda and Pip and this helps us to compete on a National level…
